Monk and Other: Select Party member key setup ~ Please share
Hi,
Can you please share what keys you have assigned to select party members 1 - 8? I don't like my current setup (below) as I can't always select the party member I want first time.
Currently I'm setup like this for movement
edafwr
For skills I use the number pad 1-8
12345678
For Selecting the party members 1 - 8
*
9
-
+
NUM_PAD_ENTER
.
0
INSERT_KEY
Can you please share how you select party members for quick heals (infuse etc.)?

^^ agreed. When I monk, I keep my "hot" or fast-cast "OMG someone's about to die" spells on 1-4 (using my pinky through index fingers) and target party members with a left mouse click.
Also, it's easier to kite with the mouse if you're zoomed way out (Birds-eye view) of the current battle. Alot of people hate this view, but don't see it's utility

I use my mouse to click on party members. Left hand is on WASD for easy kiting, middle finger ready to press 2 and 3, which are assigned to spammable spells like RoF or Mend. I use my mouse to select the skills I don't use too often (5-8).
If I'm facing a spike team, I take my hand off my mouse and use the numpad for selecting party members.

Holy crap, you take... your hand off the mouse?! I wouldn't dare doing that in any game anywhere, anytime. Praise you.

The way I do it is I use the num 1-8 for spell or enchants and number bad for party members.I mostly use the mouse to select a party member and press the desired # for which they need and for movement I use wasd or curser keys.for large 8 person parties I prefer the mouse.

I put my healing spells that are cast on targets in the lower #'s slots (1-3) which I access with my left hand (since I am touch typist) on the upper # row, and target them with my right hand on the number pad... multi-tasking at its best for monks. I have no problem letting go of the mouse, since if I am primary healer and have to move, my right hand slides over to the down arrow for retreating

I use a Speedpad n52. Usually mouse to select a target / party memeber. I use a normal wsad config for movement (except its number keys on the n52) and I use the same keys for spells 1-4 so that with a simple press of my thumb on the d-pad I can instantly select a spell in the first 4. For the remaining 4 it is a simple 'slide over' for any one finger with the thumb on the d-pad for a shift state switch. Very quick, very efficient.
